From 25 to 26 August 2026, the 3rd CLV National Tourism Organisations Meeting and the 1st CLV Tourism Ministers’ Meeting were held in Ho Chi Minh City, Viet Nam.
The above-mentioned CLV meeting was held under the concept of ”One Journey, Three Destinations”. The three countries jointly promote destination marketing, cross-border tourism connectivity, sustainable tourism development, and other areas of cooperation.
Ahead of the meeting, the Vietnam National Authority of Tourism (VNAT), drawing on its previous collaboration with the UN Tourism Regional Support Office for Asia and the Pacific (RSOAP), requested cooperation to further advance initiatives under this framework. In response, RSOAP identified three priority areas for future cooperation: (1) tourism resilience, (2) sustainable destination management, and (3) the Best Tourism Villages initiative. Going forward, RSOAP and the CLV countries will coordinate on the development of specific activities in these areas.
These initiatives are significant as they are aligned with RSOAP’s Programme of Work to strengthen collaboration with UN Tourism Member States, as well as with the International Year of Sustainable and Resilient Tourism (IYSRT 2027), designated by the United Nations for 2027.
