The virtual conference was organized by UFTE on November 20, 2020
This was the annual hosting of the UFTE Convention. It was held virtually this year and has been running for the last 20 years.
The theme was aligned with the UN World Tourism Organizations’ theme of “Tourism and Rural Development” for 2020 and the recently released policy brief, “COVID 19 and Transforming Tourism”of the UNWTO Secretary-General. This campaign seeks to highlight that Tourism needs to thrive in this time of pandemic. Transforming tourism and rural development are two further elements in the roadmap for the sector to regain its unique status as a source of hope and opportunity for all.
RSOAP was invited to provide a presentation on ‘UNWTO Tourism & Rural Development’. Ms Alcinda Trawen provided a presentation for 40minutes. She introduced UNWTO/ RSOAP and latest COVID19 tourism Statistic. The main focus of the presentation was on UNWTO Recommendations on Tourism & Rural Development report which was released on World Tourism Day 27 September 2020.

The overall participants to the event were 156 mostly from Philippines; these were Tourism Educators and students as well as Tourism Industry in Philippines.
